Miss Diamond…

Once in a while, just out of the blue, God brings a little more light into your life.

Her full name is Rachael Diamond Belanger, after knowing her for about five minutes at the ‘day job’, referring to her as Miss Diamond was somehow more fitting. I also knew that soon I would have to try to capture this gem with my lens.

I would describe Miss ‘Diamond’ as a cool, refreshing summer breeze; a young woman with a heart for God; blushing at the drop of a hat :)

She’s goin on a trip soon, an ‘Experience’, with Kingdom Building Ministries.

Asking… receiving

Seeking… finding

Knocking… walking through open doors

I hope you will say a prayer or two for her and follow her journey on her blog, Breaking Ground.

Godspeed to you Miss Diamond…

May God prosper you on your journey :)

Jesus said…

These words spoke Jesus,

and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said,

 Father, the hour is come,

glorify Thy Son,

that thy Son also may glorify Thee.

As thou hast given Him power over all flesh,

that He should give eternal life

to as many as Thou hast given Him.

and this is life eternal,

that they might know Thee,

the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.

I have gorified Thee on the earth;

I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do…

John 17:1-4

Surely He hath borne our griefs,

and carried our sorrows;

yet we did esteem Him stricken,

smitten of God,

and afflicted.

But He was wounded for OUR transgressions,

He was bruised for OUR iniquities;

the chastisement for OUR sin was upon HIM,

and with HIS stripes WE are healed.

How often does a girl get to dress for her wedding in the cozy little cottage she and her future husband have renovated and will soon call home? set up housekeeping as they used to say back in the day…

The deep love Chad & Deandra have for each other made this ceremony one that was filled with emotion. Sweet, tender…

Well, not all the emotion was sweet, tender… :)

Evidently this little guy has found a way to be even more adorable in the past/first six months of his life. What a little camera bug! It was like someone pressed the ‘on’ button. He turned on his natural charm and seemed to be having as much fun as I was.
I normally don’t try to duplicate photos from a previous shoot, but I couldn’t resist puttin him and his amazing little mama back together in some shots to show how much he’s grown. The love on his mama’s face has grown a bit too I think. I didn’t think that was possible either, but it has.

welcome!

I’m pretty excited about this whole transition of names for my photography business. Because I love to keep things in my life as simple as possible, it was necessary to change the name to donna carr photography.

Lately I have begun to get back to the basics of why I became a ‘professional’ photographer in the first place. My absolute love of beauty in people, in things, in places… Hard to believe I had already begun to drift away from that in such a short time.

I am an eternal ‘glass half full’ optimist. I believe with all my heart that ‘all things work together for good to those that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28′. At all times I strive to protect my mind by surrounding myself with positive people, books, music and all things lovely whenever I can.

I create little spatters of beauty here and there, just so I have to pause, give thanks to Papa and smile.

Believe it or not, this is my bathroom. :) This is a photo of the morning sun greeting me when I got up a few days ago… Beautiful… And right there beside that little vase of flowers is usually where the toilet paper sits.!! Oh MY!! ( too much information I know, but I had to say it! lol)

There is so much gloom and destruction in our world today and there are days we wonder ‘what else could possibly go wrong?’ Photography is my way of sayin’ ‘Hey friend, God loves you. Look at what He’s given you, in this person, in this day, in this thing, in this flower’.

Yea, that’s still why I pick up my camera. :)

My new website address is now www.donnacarr-photography.com

I also have a new page on facebook. Come on over and ‘like’ me again :)                Donna Carr Photography

Lonnie & Stephanie’s private ceremony, on the banks of the Ohio River, was so romantic and intimate. With only close family there, it was truly ‘their’ day to share with those closest to them.

And then we were off!!

Out and about all over town…

After that, it was back to Riverside Park to party with family & friends…

and have cake.

Clutch Dad’s hand….

Look into Mom’s eyes…

And seal the day… with a kiss :)

the scar project, cancer is not a pink ribbon…

cancer is not a pink ribbon…

not, a pink ribbon…

not… a pink ribbon…

it will loom over a life… a city…

it touches the very much loved ones…

the very beautiful ones…

and they cope the best they know how…

sisters write songs for sisters…

and sing ‘em with passion…

and the survivorhood feels the fight all over again…

new best friend, lifelong sisters are made…

and they are each other’s heros…

children write their song for mama…

cause ‘cancer is a bitch’…

really, really is a bitch…

and again the survivorhood knows the truth of the song…

all too well…

and the photographer makes it clear ‘it’s all about the girls, not me’…

and a fighter makes her plea…

and soulmates take one step at a time… with unconditional support-love…

for better or worse… and they are richer for it…
